*Assessment Phase:
Couples therapy starts with an initial assessment phase which usually lasts 3 weeks and looks as follows:
1st session: joint 75 minute session where I will ask you to speak about the relationship, what issues your are facing, and the goals and wishes you have for couples counselling.
2nd & 3rd session: individual 50-minute sessions where I will ask to meet with each of you individually to gather more in-depth information about each of your personal history.
4th session: joint 75-minute session where I will offer you the feedback of my assessment and suggest therapeutic goals for our work together.
Do you take insurance?
This depends on your insurance provider - please check with your provider regarding accessing psychotherapy.
Can we meet first before I decide if I want to start therapy?
Absolutely. You can book an initial introductory session (see fees above) where we can discuss your needs and I can answer any questions you may have about therapy. Then you can take the time to decide if youโd like to start therapy or not.
What if I canโt afford your fees?
For some people, therapy through private practice may not be sustainable long-term.
If this is your case, you can check out local or international charities that offer free or reduced-cost therapy. Depending on where you are living, you may also be able to access therapy through your National Health Service - contact your GP for further information.
